The Director of Promotion Planning will own and be accountable for working with the Sales Vice Presidents to maximize the effectiveness of trade strategies and lead change management including the implementation and adoption of our new trade management tool. The role is ideal for an entrepreneurial-minded person who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to influence how pertinent data is captured, presented, and utilized to drive better business decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Own and complete the implementation of the internal promotion planning and evaluation tool while ensuring data integrity
  • Be accountable for the promotion planning process and analysis of promotional performance across channels, communication of findings, and development of recommendations to drive more effective promotional strategies.
  • Leverage internal and external data sources including customer point-of-sales, customer specific Nielsen data, and other customer provided data sets to create Go to Market guidelines and employ effective trade strategies to drive incremental sales with increased profitability.
  • Own the relationship between the Promotion Planning Team, IT, Sales, Sales Finance and outside consultants while building, administering, and managing the Blue TPM system to enable trade planning and reporting that is consistent with Blue Trade and commercial strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales leaders to drive sales planning meetings with retailers and present key promotional insights
  • Build strong relationships with Sales teams to fully understand promotional strategies and customer dynamics
  • Effectively manage and develop newly established promotion planning team.
  • OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS REQUESTED:
  • Deliver against ad hoc requests and projects from a variety of cross-functional business partners, including senior leadership.
  • Manage all vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and management of budget for Nielsen pricing tool and TPM system.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency with TPM Tools, IRI, Nielsen, or other syndicated data sources
  • Experience working with C-level executives with the ability to influence, work collaboratively, and gain consensus across the organization.
  • Proficiency in Power Point for communicating analytics, recommendations, and customer presentations
  • In depth knowledge of consumer products, product mix impacts, and key retail sales metrics.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with free-roaming companion pets.
  • PREFERRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 10+ years of experience in CPG industry with relevant work experience with increasing levels of people management
  • Self-motivated with great communication skills.
  • Leadership qualities demonstrating a strong ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and be detail oriented with respect to ensuring deadlines are met without creating a negative impact to internal clients
  • Must be able to work in environment with free-roaming companion pets
  • Pet parent preferred
  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor s Degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field required; MBA preferred
